About Malaysia Expat Tools
Free calculators and plain-English guides for foreigners living in, retiring to or moving to Malaysia.
Why this site exists
Malaysian visa, tax and property rules are spread across government websites, forum threads and changing announcements. Most questions have a simple answer once you know the rule: how much is my overstay fine, when is my 90-day report due, do I become a tax resident this year. Malaysia Expat Tools turns those rules into 5 quick tools that give you the answer for your own situation, with guides that explain the rest.
How we keep it accurate
- Every number a tool uses comes from a published source, listed at the bottom of each tool page.
- We prefer official sources such as the Immigration Department of Malaysia, the MM2H Centre, MDEC and the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), and say when a source is an independent guide.
- We re-check every tool against its sources each month. The date of the last check is shown on each tool.
- Calculators run in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or stored.
What this site is not
Malaysia Expat Tools is independent and is not part of, or endorsed by, the Malaysian government. Results are estimates to help you plan, not legal, tax or immigration advice. Embassies and immigration offices sometimes apply rules differently, so confirm anything important with the official office or a qualified professional.
